All varieties are available for discount
pricing. We ask that grapes be picked in half bushel or bushel baskets, which is approximately
28 pounds.
Different discounts depend on the quantity picked. Rates will be different for each category
below. The more you pick, the better the discount.
Usually available between September and October
Cherries:
Red Sweet Cherries and Ranier (White)
Cherries start around the 4th of July.
Sometimes some varieties are effected by frost, which may result in a smaller crop,
thus shortening our U-Pick season. Please call ahead for exact dates, times, and directions (U-Pick is not at the Apple Barn).
Apples:
Golden Delicious, Crispin (Mutsu), Red Delicious,
Empire, Northern Spy, Braeburn, Cortland, Fuji, Ida Red, Jonagold, Jonathan, Rome, Winesap.
Minimum purchase 1 Bushel (basket or bag not included in price)
Please no dogs in Apple U-Pick area.
Apple U-Pick usually starts the last weekend of
September thru Columbus Day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Michigan time. U-Pick begins September
19 and continues til October 4, 2009. Please call (269) 429-0596 for any further details or
updates. Apple U-Pick customers will receive special offers and/or discounts at the Apple Barn
after your U-Picking excursion. Besides additional amounts of apples available at the U-Pick,
you will be able to find several apple varieties at the Apple Barn that are not available for
picking, like Gala, Honey Crisp, and Macintosh. We also will have Fresh Nye's Apple Cider,
fruit pies, caramel apples, pears, plums, pumpkins, grapes, and several varieties of winter
squash. We also have Michigan Maple Syrup, Michigan Honey, and many jams, jellies, dressings,
salsas and much more.
Depending on crop size and picker turnout,
picking could be slim for the last weekend. Please call ahead to check availability and plan
accordingly.
